The National Cancer Institute has awarded CommCore a contract to work with the Cancer Prevention Fellows on scientific presentations, job talks and elevator pitches.
Founded in 1987, NCI Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program (CPFP) is a multidisciplinary postdoctoral program that trains future leaders in the field of cancer prevention and control. It provides the fellows an opportunity to develop an independent research program in cancer prevention. Unlike other postdoctoral fellowship programs, the CPFP allows their fellows to have the opportunity to select their own research subjects and develop and lead activities based on their own interest.
As part of the wide range of CPFP training opportunities offered, CommCore has been awarded the tasks to provide scientific presentation training, elevator pitch workshops, and ad-hoc training to their postdoctoral fellows to better able to:
- Discuss research with peers, receive feedback to improve project direction
- Educate the public on cancer prevention research
- Provide access to accurate, timely, and engaging research-based cancer prevention information
- Improve talks to potential employers
- Effectively communicate science and cancer research
“Our 35-years of success working with postdoctoral fellows from organizations including RWJ Health Policy Fellows, LUNGevity, and the Christiana Care Hospital Fellowship on scientific presentations and now with CPFP, will broaden our scope within the federal government,” said Amy Doman, SVP. “We are honored to work on an important cause such as cancer research.”
