Welcome our summer intern, Gabriela!

CommCore welcomes Gabriela Deno as one of our summer interns. Gabriea is an undergrad at Florida State University, majoring in Media and Communication Studies. Read more about her below!

Three words I would use to describe myself…

Persistent, compassionate and driven.

What are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about crea

tivity. Regardless if it is in personal or professional life, I love how individual creativity can set each person apart from another. I have always been interested in creativity illustrated through art. Growing up, I expressed my creativity through dance and trained in ballet for 15 years. The field of communication allows for the use of respective creativity through creating your own way to relay a message on different platforms, or in multiple other strategic ways you may design. This is why I believe a career in this field will allow me to still keep my creativity alive and showcase it in another professional way.

Why intern for CommCore?

There is no other way to gain real experience without putting yourself in the real world. As a sophomore in college, I am setting myself up to find a career I will enjoy and can see myself excelling in. I have always had an interest in communications and CommCore seemed like the perfect place to experience my interests in a real professional setting. Specializing in crisis communications and media training, I believe that interning with CommCore will leave me with knowledge and skills that will guide me to create success in my future.

What is your favorite social media channel?

My favorite social media channel would have to be Instagram. I am a person who learns through visuals and appreciates photography, so a social media platform that is centered around pictures is definitely my go-to. I enjoy how instagram allows each individual user to showcase their personality and style through their profile and feed. Recently, through new updates Instagram has gained a lot of popularity by adding features such as Instagram stories and highlights. I feel as if these updates created a social media platform that lets people communicate and share with others, while also having fun creating an aesthetic or personal design for their page.

What do you hope to get involved with the most at CommCore?

I am hoping to learn more about crisis communications as well as how to properly deal with the media. I plan on going into the field of communications in the future, therefore learning how to quickly deal with inevitable crisis situations is crucial. Media in general has become a huge part of our society, so I believe that knowing how to properly present yourself to the media, as well as how to address issues that arise, is very important.
