CommCore Blog and News

Welcome our spring intern, Jo!

Johemy Vilchez is an undergraduate student from Westfield State University, studying Communications with a concentration in Public and Corporate Relations.

Three words I would use to describe myself:

Ambitious, Reliable and Easy-Going

Why intern at CommCore…

I was drawn to CommCore’s diverse staff and their professionalism when working with clients. CommCore works as a team in a professional environment and helps you build confidence in your new experiences. They understand the importance of being guided in the right direction, in the Public Relations field.

What are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about reading. Through reading, I have found the beauty in creativity and learning. I am obsessed with being surrounded by books in a quiet space or outside on a nice and warm sunny day. An abundance of my free time is spent either reading or buying more books for my collection.

What is your favorite social media channel?

TikTok is by far my favorite social media channel because of its distracting 1-to-3-minute videos. Not all of their content is entertainment – some videos can also be educational. TikTok is very easy to use and to connect with people who share the same interests as you. The app has helped me connect with other fellow book lovers and share our thoughts and feelings about many different series.

What do you hope to get involved with at Commcore?

I hope to be able to work hands on with clients and in workshops, and to learn immensely from this opportunity. I’m looking forward to receiving professional feedback, which I can use to improve my communications skills and develop beneficial professional and personal habits. I hope to work on a variety of different projects and areas of communications to help me pursue the next step in my future career.
