Welcome our Spring Intern, Emma!

CommCore welcomes Emma Zubiago as our spring intern. Emma is an undergraduate student at American University, majoring in Public Relations and Strategic Communications with a minor in Education Studies. She is also earning a Certificate in Leadership and Ethical Development.

Three words I would use to describe myself…

I would describe myself as caring, loyal, and detail-oriented.

What are you most passionate about?

This is a big question! I’m passionate about many things. However, the most important is evolution. I don’t mean in the scientific, Darwinist style of evolution. I consider evolution to encompass: personal growth, changing societal trends, constant curiosity and learning. Life is never quite static, so I think that continuing to be curious is imperative in this societal and cultural landscape. I believe there’s always something else to be discovered and some way to improve.

Why intern at CommCore?

I wanted to gain experience working with a consulting firm and with a wide variety of clients. With CommCore’s impressive client list, I found I could have many experiences in different fields. I also wanted to expand my current portfolio by learning more about crisis communications to round out an important sector of communications.

What is your favorite social media channel?

My favorite social media platform is Instagram. I am a very visual person with a penchant for examining brands’ pages in my spare time (I guess I really do love studying communications). Instagram is a well-trafficked application – popular amongst my peers – so I enjoy seeing if there are any new or interesting trends. Instagram also allows me to play with simple design and learn new formats and skills. While this sounds silly, I enjoy learning from others’ profiles so that I can keep up to date on social media trends or use them for my own profile. I also think it’s an easy way to keep up with friends and family, which is always nice.
