Arden Madden is an undergraduate student from the University of Maryland College Park, majoring in communications with a focus in public relations, and minoring in general business.

Why intern at CommCore?
I am interning at CommCore because I hope to learn more about what PR and consulting is like in a professional business setting. CommCore’s reputation and their expertise in media training, crisis communication, and the overall PR work they do with a variety of clients intrigued me. I also appreciate that CommCore is a small company, as everyone supports one another and works as a team; which is something I am drawn to in a work environment. Additionally, I think the work they do in terms of media training and bettering communication skills, is critical in our world today as the media is constantly changing and affecting businesses’ reputation and success.
What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about the relationships I foster throughout my life. Whether it’s a relationship with a friend, family member, manager, or another employee in the work setting, I believe that caring about and putting effort into any relationship is extremely important. How you are perceived by others and how you treat others can greatly influence both your professional and personal life.
What is your favorite social media channel?
My favorite social media channel is Instagram. I appreciate that Instagram can be both a professional platform for people, specifically for businesses, and a casual, personal platform for people. Instagram allows me to stay in touch with friends and family, while also having the ability to stay up to date on news, or my favorite celebrities and brands.
What do you hope to get involved with at CommCore?
I hope to further my overall knowledge in this field, as well as observe a workshop to learn about the work CommCore directly does with their clients. I hope to build relationships with the CommCore team and offer my work in whatever way to support them best. As a senior graduating this May, I also hope to expand my network in the field. I am eager for the rest of my internship and hope to improve my communication skills throughout this experience.
