Meeting Planner Organization Responds to CommCore’s Crisis Communications Simulations
(Washington, DC, Dec 11, 2014) – Members of the Senior Planners Industry Networks (SPiN) had to think fast during a recent crisis communications simulation workshop by specialty communications firm CommCore. Scenarios included a sudden hotel worker strike due to fears of Ebola contagion from an international event’s keynote speaker, and industry responses to published articles about a District Attorney probe into caterer kickbacks to meeting planners.
“The participants quickly grasped that effective crisis communications was both in their interest and that of their clients,” said CommCore Senior Vice President Nicholas F. Peters who conducted the program. “They immediately recognized that planning and preparedness are the keys to proper execution when things go wrong.” SPiN attendees represented independent meeting planning firms as well as in-house association planners.
