Public Relations Specialist
Location: Richmond, Virginia or Washington, DC Local
Position Description:
CommCore seeks a freelancer or full-time, experienced Public Relations Specialist to support our Mid-Atlantic PR practice. The position will be a hybrid work model. The specialist should have 3-5 years’ experience preferably working in-house for a public relations agency. Social media experience is a big plus.
Responsibilities:
- Manage PR client relationships and their engagements with CommCore
- Write press releases and announcements for clients
- Experience creating media pitches and pitching media
- Develop new business and client presentations
- Develop materials for client work such as proposals, budgets, program formats, marketing collateral
- Develop marketing ideas for CommCore
- Ability to develop social media plans and content
Qualification Skills:
CommCore is looking for a hardworking, self-motivated candidate with a strong track record in public relations or marketing communications. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized and able to work well independently. Experience in public relations at a PR agency or corporation is highly desired. This includes roles such as corporate and non-profit communications, public relations, public affairs, marketing, financial communications and investor relations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or similar field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency with social media, social media tools, and metrics
- Strong internet and database research skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Related professional experience preferred
