The spirit of the holiday season is togetherness regardless of what holiday you celebrate. It is a time for thinking of others and taking stock of what is important, and to become better versions of ourselves.
The same is true in business; holidays offer many businesses peak exposure to customers, and an opportunity to reaffirm its values and culture.
As a communicator, you can ask yourself: How can holidays and observances be strategically mapped to support the overall communication plan and organizational culture?
It is important that organizations adapt to the climate of current times which can provide businesses a platform to emphasize core values such as diversity and equality.
For example, a company posting about a religious holiday or donating to a certain non-profit demonstrate a commitment to supporting diversity and equality. This creates a double win: doing the right thing while thoughtfully following the strategic communications plan.
